You want to save a list as an Excel file. After you save and open the list in Excel, the data is incorrect.
Excel, download, LIST_CONVERT_TO_DAT, spreadsheet, XLS
Reason and Prerequisites
When you download a list for Excel, the system does not generate a "correct" Excel file. The system only creates a text file, in which the individual columns are separated by tabs. To distinguish whether the download or import into Excel is incorrect, we recommend that you check the data in the generated text file for accuracy. To do this, use the following steps:
1. Download the list for the spreadsheet. (All other options for the list download are not relevant). The 'Save' dialog box suggests XLS as the file format. This is overwritten with TXT.
2. Display the file that is created with the text editor and not with Excel.
3. Compare the data in the text editor with the list. If you cannot determine any differences here, then the error only occurs when you import to Excel.
If the list contains special characters that, as characters, are smaller than blank characters, the system will always display these with # on the screen. However, during the download, the system displays the original characters. If required, you must select another text editor that can display the special characters.
To avoid the automatic conversion by Excel when you open the file, you can start Excel and then use File ->Open to open the file. The system then starts an import assistant. In the import assistant you must consider the options for the import. For example, there is an option to skip text in the file that is to be imported. You must indicate this text with a character that may be determined there. This character is normally the double quotation mark ". Therefore, if there are lines missing after the Excel import, the file probably contains a double
