Hi SAP experts!

Sorry for my english query.

Problem description:
At present our company has 13 departments. Such as HR, IT ... Every department has certain number of positions. For each position is only one employer responsible. We have provided for each this position a dialog user which their user name is based on department name and consisting of four number. For example: hr1101, hr1102, ...hr1199; it1201, it1202..., it1299 (the first digit is the number of company branch: 1 = head office);

When an employer [X] leaves a company or change his/her branch(or position) [A] to another then our administrator change (transaction code: SU01) his/her user password and user profile such as Title, Last Name, First Name etc. with a data of an new employer [Y] who is assigned to old [X]'s position. And [X] becomes other user name at his/her new branch(or position).

I don't know SAP has any special concept for it or not. Please let me know if there is any other sensitive concept in SAP.

Advise to change the system of giving user's names =)
You can relate user with object PERSON in system by 105 IT. And if it's necessary read his/her position by FM.

thanks for reply.

according to which concept it would be meaningful to name users? Actually I don't interest about users profile, only choosing of user's name

I mean you can't automaticly change user name when employee get transfer or dismiss. You would have to delete and create user's account again.
it's more better to abandon the user's names're based on employee's position.

No, I don't abandon users names(our company has limited user licence) and don't try to change user name (as for me it is not at all possible!)

Simply, I have created for each position one dialog user to access SAP GUI and this user account has current user profile data (such first/last name, email, tel., department etc.) who is responsible for this position. If current employer get transfer or dismiss, then I change only user profile data (also password) with a new user's (or block if this position has a vacancy).

So, I need some advice how I can choose best/meaningful user names?!

sorry. misuderstood.
I\ve seen only user names are based on name of person who have this user. Or create user name like name in company network.
In your case, not all is so clean.


Imho, it's not so impotant.

have I delete and re-create same user, if any employer get transfer from one branch to another OR change his/her position within one branch(for exp. in level of department) ?

How is the optimal way to do it in SAP?
