Diagnosis
If you receive message RSM1 105 as well as this message and you have chosen the automatic mode Automatic Update for the ODS object, it is probable that there are no data targets connected to the ODS object. Therefore the system cannot automatically update data after it has been activated.

System response
After each activation, the system automatically tries to update the data that has been activated to the subsequent data targets. The system generates InfoPackages for this purpose. These check whether a successful initialization has already been performed. If an initialization has already taken place the system tries to update the data with a delta request. If no initialization has yet taken place, the system tries to perform the initialization.

If no data targets have been connected to the ODS object, the system cannot update the data from the ODS object.

This system behavior does not have any effect on the consistency of the data.

Procedure
If no data targets are connected to the ODS object, switch off Automatic Update for this ODS object in the ODS object maintenance or ODS object administration.

Symptom
If you have activated the automatic function 'Automatic Update' foran ODS object, BW automatically tries, after each activation process, to update the data that has just been updated into the data targets behind the ODS.

Generated InfoPackages are used for this purpose.

These InfoPackages check whether a successful initializationhas already been performed and then execute a delta update request or try to perform an initialization without selections.

If this fails, error message RSM1 105 appears in the monitor on the Detail tab under the 'ODS Activation' node:

'Error in generated init. package ZPAK_.... for ODS XXXZ; no update'


In addition, message RSM1 188 usually appears also:

'Delete init request &1 before further inits with overlapping selections'.


This occurs with each new request that you load into the ODS and activatebut the request itself if GREEN ini the monitor and the request is also GREEN and active in the ODS administration, but it is not not updated.

In most cases, this occurs because there are no data targets BEHIND the ODS into which the activated requests of this ODS can be updated.

This is NOT checked if the automatic update function starts but only if the generated InfoPackage is executed.

No incorrect data is created as a result and only these two error messages are written to the monitor.

You can ignore these two messages, but it is preferabletoswitch off the automatic update for this ODS, since there are no data targets behind the ODS into which the data can be updated.
